Etihad Airways today launched an exciting competition on its social media channels to capture the spirit of the Holy Month of Ramadan and help reunite family members during the most important time of the year.

The competition, which will run until 16 July 2015, will see one lucky winner receive a pair of Economy Class return tickets to any destination in the Etihad Airways network, subject to terms and conditions.

The initiative invites all residents of the UAE and GCC to simply select who they would want to visit and where, as well as submit a short entry stating why they would like to see their loved ones. A panel of judges will choose a winner based on the reasons for wanting to travel.

All entries should be submitted in Arabic on the ‘Ramadan Delight’ competition app hosted on the airline’s Arabic Facebook page http://bit.ly/RamadanWin or at http://flights.etihad.com/ar/Ramadan-delight. Entries can be viewed and shared using the #بهجة_رمضان hashtag (#RamadanDelight) on Twitter.

Elizabeth Selby, Etihad Airways’ Head of Social Media, said: “Through our social media channels, we always look for innovative ways of engaging with our community of followers across the globe. The idea for the competition came from the growing trend of people travelling back home to visit their family members, especially during this time of the year. So this Ramadan, we decided to play an important role in connecting someone with their loved ones, which is not only rewarding for our followers but also for Etihad Airways.”
