The Emirates National Oil Company (ENOC)has banned tobacco products sale for 24 hours, across its all ENOC and EPPCO service stations network in the UAE. The move was in support of the World No Tobacco Day (WNTD), an international initiative launched by the World Health Organisation (WHO) and its partners.

WNTD is observed on May 31 every year, and aims to encourage a 24-hour period of abstinence from all forms of tobacco consumption around the globe. The day is intended to draw attention on the widespread prevalence of tobacco use and the negative health effects on non-smokers.

The WHO encourages concerned authorities all over the world to reduce tobacco product sale in general, especially on WNTD.
