EMUI 11 on Huawei Matepad Pro: What's New With the Latest Software Update?

Huawei recently shared the EMUI 11 software update for its flagship tablet, the HUAWEI MatePad Pro. While we all know about the EMUI 11 update for Huawei’s smartphone lineup, things are quite different with the HUAWEI MatePad Pro, resulting in some new features and a better experience that aims to enhance productivity and improve creativity.

Multi-Scene Collaboration

One main feature that the update brings is the new and improved Multi-Screen Collaboration. A feature introduced mainly for bringing smartphones and laptops together, Multi-Screen Collaboration basically allows users to stream their smartphone displays to the larger display of a laptop or tablet. This allows them to not only control both devices together, but also share files with simply drag and drop or even use the laptop or tablet peripherals to control the phone.

With the EMUI 11 update for HUAWEI MatePad Pro however, Multi-Screen Collaboration gets a few improvements that enhances the whole experience. Now, not only can the user run apps on both devices side-by-side, but can also take advantage of the HUAWEI MatePad Pro’s larger screen. This means that users can launch an app on the smartphone and then use the HUAWEI MatePad Pro to display it, while also using their smartphone separately. For example, users can showcase a video or a presentation on the HUAWEI MatePad Pro’s display from their smartphone, without having their notifications popping up on the tablet screen or any interruptions if they receive a call. In addition to this, users can also transfer files, images and videos by dragging and dropping it, which is perfect when it comes to adding these files to documents or presentations being drafted on the tablet. All of this not only works as a smart solution when it comes to showcasing work but also adds the benefits of privacy.

Multi-Window

The EMUI 11 software update for the HUAWEI MatePad Pro also includes the new Multi-Window feature. This feature serves as a solution to streamline the overall work process, taking away the need to keep switching between apps, be it for reference or for messaging, and replacing it by having both apps running side by side, simultaneously. This is easily done by simply swiping and holding inwards from the right side of the screen to access the edge panel. This panel will have all apps that are compatible for multi-window listed, from which users can select two apps from the list, tap, hold and drag them out to initiate Multi-Window, thereby having them run side by side. Users can also add two more floating windows which can be resized and moved around as need.

HUAWEI M-Pencil & more apps

The EMUI 11 software update also improves the overall experience with the HUAWEI M-Pencil compatible with a range of new apps that are available on HUAWEI AppGallery. With this range of apps, users are able to improve further on the overall note-taking, drawing or even animation, thanks to its compatibility and enhancements for EMUI 11 on the HUAWEI MatePad Pro. For example, NoteShelf, is a note taking app which is designed for work and study thanks to a wide range of brush options and image and text insert support. On the other hand, Zen Brush 3 is more of an artist’s tool that allows them to get experimental with calligraphy and ink painting. Animators can try out FlipaClip’s easy-to-use animation tools to create their own animations which they can create by drawing with the HUAWEI M-Pencil.
