EMC hosts ‘IT Transformation Summit’ in Kuwait

Having recently announced operations in Kuwait, EMC today hosted an event under the theme “Transform IT + Business + Yourself With EMC” at the Sheraton Hotel, Kuwait to highlight the latest solutions that organizations can use to accelerate their IT transformation journey to achieve greater operational efficiencies, in addition to agility and scalability for growth. 

The event kicked off with a welcome keynote by Ahmed Helmy, District Manager of Kuwait and Bahrain, who reiterated the company’s commitment to customers and channel partners in Kuwait, citing this event as being the first of many to come. 

In keeping with the growing adoption of Cloud Computing models to deliver the maximum possible IT efficiency while enabling resource optimization and flexibility, EMC experts shed light on the latest technologies available to help enterprises accelerate their journey to the cloud. A key part of this discussion was centered on the Software-Defined Data Centre (SDDC) to provide unmatched business agility, dramatically simpler operations, and lower costs. 

The Audience gathered at the event was then introduced to EMC’s latest offering, EMC ViPR, the world’s first Software-Defined Storage platform that was unveiled at the recently concluded EMC World 2013. At the seminar, experts outlined how enterprises can provision, manage and create storage resources using ViPR to effectively reduce the number of administrators it takes to manage rapidly growing data repositories, by using automation and self-service provisioning to ultimately better manage the cost and complexity associated with managing surging amounts of data.

Through the many workshops and sessions during the day, EMC experts highlighted how EMC tiered storage, virtualization, and next generation backup solutions help maximize performance, reduce costs and enhance agility. 

The summit also examined the trends of Big Data and Advanced Analytics as well as the question of how to achieve comprehensive IT security in the face of an ever-evolving cyber threat landscape. In addition to that, RSA, The Security Division of EMC, highlighted the inadequacies of traditional signature-based security technologies and the resulting need to implement more predictive, intelligence-based solutions to help enterprises protect critical systems and confidential data.
