Efma hosts Retail Banking Summit in Lebanon

Prominent decision-makers from the banking industry in Lebanon and the region gathered in the city today, to attend the second Retail Banking Summit, organised by Efma in the country.
The full-day summit was organised to identify the most pressing challenges facing the banking industry in the region. It offered an opportunity for wide-ranging exchanges on pertinent topics, including trends in innovation, digitisation, transforming the customer experience, distribution, mobile and payments and the emerging role of fintechs in the economy.
Speakers and delegates from domestic and foreign institutions from across the financial services ecosystem, including Bank Audi, BLOM Bank, Fransabank, Byblos Bank, Credit Libanais, Banque Libano-Française, Banque Du Liban and Bank of Beirut, actively participated in the summit.
Speaking on the occasion, Fahim uz Zaman, General Manager Middle East- Efma said:“The banking sector in Lebanon has grown tremendously over the past few years. Banks in the region are looking for opportunities to serve customer needs in more innovative and profitable ways.”
He added that: “With a membership base consisting of almost a third of the world’s largest retail banks, Efma is focused on reaching out to industry professionals to discuss and debate the ever-changing banking landscape and seek pragmatic solutions to the challenges facing the sector.”
Efma’s 2nd Retail Banking summit in Lebanon provided a regional overview of the banking industry and was a major source of knowledge, with industry experts sharing their views on the rapidly changing financial market in Lebanon. The very informative discussions and valuable exchanges were highly appreciated by participants.
