Education and culture have an integrative relationship. Together, they play an essential role in unleashing talent and creativity

Education and culture have an integrative relationship. Together, they play an essential role in unleashing talent and creativity, enhancing competencies, and upgrading societies through the development of educated generations who understand the importance of both. The educational system concerned with empowering generations provides a part of the culture to learners throughout their years of study, along with other knowledge skills, and the cultural and creative fields constitute an important element in helping form the personality of educated generations aware of their surroundings and are able to confront problems by devising the necessary solutions.

The International Day of Education is an opportunity to highlight the importance of including culture and arts in education, while emphasising the importance of developing vocational education and training as a key to thriving emerging talent and building the next generation of talents. This can be done within the educational system by including culture in the educational curriculum, and outside the educational system through the development of programmes, workshops and vocational training vis partnerships between authorities and institutions specialised in culture and education. As a custodian of the emirate's cultural and creative sector, Dubai Culture cooperates with academic bodies to create scientific tracks concerned with culture and arts as well as provides a supportive and incubating environment for local talents in the stages of public and higher education that also extends to training fields.

‘Talent and education’ is an essential pillar of our strategic roadmap. To meet the requirements of this pillar, we are committed to supporting an ecosystem that encourages the growth of emerging talent. To this end, we make sure that our museums, public libraries, and other assets become hubs for learning and knowledge provided for students and future generations. For example, we always work, in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and the Knowledge and Human Development Authority, to organise school visits to museums that include some student activities to stimulate learning through teamwork based on exploration and the development of critical thinking and communication skills. This helps ensure the enrichment of students’ learning experience in support of the curriculum requirements. Our public libraries also host many innovative programmes and activities aimed at enhancing the knowledge of children and youth, improving their creative skills and enhancing their values of inspiration.

In order to provide an equal opportunity for everyone to access knowledge, educational and cultural resources, it is necessary to keep pace with modern technology. Therefore, we invest in advanced technological tools to hold a variety of specialised and innovative workshops and educational dialogue sessions within virtual platforms, in addition to launching specialised educational and training initiatives, such as the e-learning initiative in partnership with LinkedIn, through which we provide free specialised educational courses to develop skills and knowledge horizons for all creative talents, professionals and entrepreneurs.

It is necessary to begin the stage of cultural growth from a young age and work to strengthen the relationship between culture and education by activating educational curricula that consolidate creativity and instil a spirit of innovation as well as encourage cultural and educational initiatives towards nurturing talents, enhance creativity, and creating a community of distinguished bright minds that contribute to serving the nation and building a better and more sustainable tomorrow.
