Dubai Trade graduated more than 300 CTLP and CCB professionals

Dubai Trade, the online gateway for trade and logistics services in Dubai, has celebrated today a graduation of more than 300 Certified Trade & Logistics Professional (CTLP) and Certified Customs Broker (CCB). The ceremony was attended by the CEO of Dubai Trade, Eng. Mahmood Al Bastaki, Mr. Jan Steenberg, Chair of Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport International (CILT) Education Standards committee, Mr. Jon Harris, International Professional Development Coordinator at CILT, and Mr. Steve Cross, Board Member of CILT UAE along with senior officials from DP World, media, and graduates’ families.

At first, Mr. Al Bastaki congratulated the graduates for being one of the professionals in trade and logistics and enriching their resume by adding this achievement which is internationally accredited.

He also signed MOU with CILT - International represented by Mr. Steenberg which based on it the Certified Trade & Logistics Professional (CTLP) has been internationally accredited as a programme. This will also support the CTLP graduates who intends to continue their studies with CITL International by exempting them from one whole unit.

For his part, Steenberg praised Dubai Trade’s efforts in supporting the trade and logistics community with the important and needful knowledge which will in return facilitate their day to day works as well as to overcome the difficulties they might face in this industry.

Dubai Trade has launched the CTLP in 2011 as the only comprehensive and progressive vocational training programme cover the end-to-end process of import and export in the UAE and region and had created more than 1200 professionals who are knowledgeable and skilled in trade policies and regulations locally and internationally. Other than being accredited by Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) in Dubai, Dubai Trade’s Training Centre was proudly presented as the “Training & Education Provider of the Year” during the Supply Chain And Transport Awards 2015 (SCATA) for the third consecutive year.  For the Certified Customs Broker (CCB) programme, Dubai Trade started offering it last April to address the key elements and procedures of customs processes in the region. The courses are getting the interest also from outside the UAE and attended by trainees from the US, China, Japan, Colombia, Saudi Arabia, Brazil, Oman, Iraq.

Poornima Raveendran as a graduate had a word during the ceremony and said: “In this occasion and on behalf of all the graduates, I would like to thank Dubai Trade for giving us the opportunity to enrol in their programmes and earn the necessary information needed by every person wishes to engage in the field of trade and logistics, I was really pleased that after passing the programmes I have updated my resume and was able to be find a job immediately in the same industry, thank you Dubai Trade”.

  • The programmes are provided every month at Dubai Trade training halls with the capacity of 30 trainees per class. A 40 classroom hours is delivered as an intensive format over one week as well as in two-weeks of evening sessions.
  • Courses are available in both Arabic and English depending on demand.
  • Test is online-based now.
  • This year we have launched a new platform where candidates can get access to course resources, Extra reading materials and engaged in discussions. This platform can be accessed through desktops and using Smartphones by downloading a special application  
  • Candidates can easily enrol in the courses by visiting the programmes’ websites where they can book the convenient schedule and pay online.
