Dubai Customs and Dubai Media Incorporated sign cooperation agreement and launch “Al Furdah” show on Sama Dubai TV
Dubai Customs and Dubai Media Incorporated (DMI) have signed an agreement of cooperation to enhance their existing joint strategic partnership. The agreement is in line with both parties’ commitment to boost cooperation and partnership with various entities and organizations in the UAE.
The agreement between DC and DMI, which falls within the strategic plans of both parties based on the close ties between them, was signed by H.E. Ahmed Mahboob Musabih, Dubai Customs Director, and H.E. Ahmed Saeed Al Mansouri, Director General of TV Channels at DMI, in the presence of Khalifa Hamad Abu Shehab, Director of Sama Dubai TV, alongside a number of executives and senior officials from both sides.
Following the signing of the agreement, H.E. Ahmed Mahboob Musabih said that the agreement is aimed at joining efforts to fulfil the Dubai Government’s vision, boost cooperation, share experience in the multimedia work field to hone employees’ skills in both sides and enhance Dubai’s economic and commercial standing in the local and international media. The agreement is also expected to provide a platform for sharing knowledge, expertise and corporate practices pertaining to the nature of their work.
Mr Musabih lauded the enlightening role played by DMI locally, regionally and internationally. He said: “We are delighted with the new agreement of cooperation, which boosts the aspects of the existing partnership and establishes a new phase of working together. Through this partnership, DC wishes to create its own TV programs to shed light on the efforts it exerts in carrying out customs and inspection operations, deliver media messages to community members and acquaint them with customs operations and the role Dubai Customs undertakes to protect the community from the infiltration of prohibited materials, as well as boost growth of legitimate trade in Dubai.”
The Director of Dubai Customs further noted that both parties seek to utilize each other’s training programs, particularly mutual courses on media and administration and to use the services of accredited lecturers in both sides.
On his part, H.E. Ahmed Saeed Al Mansourisaid: “The conclusion of this agreement is an embodiment of the DMI’s vision which goes side-by-side with Dubai Government’s strategic objectives. It highlights the importance of continuous cooperation and communication between various entities and government departments in Dubai, as per the directives of H.E. Sami Al Qamzi, DMI Board Vice Chairman and Managing Director, to support and encourage innovation and creative partnerships and contribute to activities that help further the progress witnessed in all areas in the UAE”.
He added that: “As a first step towards implementing the cooperation agreement, a TV program sponsored by Dubai Customs and titled “Al Furdah” will air on Sama Dubai. The 12-episode show, to be broadcasted over 3 months, will be presented by Mr Khalil Saqer bin Gharib, Director of Communication Department at Dubai Customs. The program will cover all aspects of customs and economic operations, DC’s role in facilitating trade flow, fostering investment and supporting the economy, in addition to its role as the community’s protective shield against the infiltration of illicit goods and smuggling of narcotics and other prohibited materials. It will also tackle cooperation ties and partnerships with security authorities in the country and how they join hands to crack down on crimes that can ruin the peace and serenity of the community. The TV show will feature a number of customs and economic officials and experts.”
