Dubai Customs is taking part in GITEX 2014, which kicks off today (Sunday 12th October, 2014). Since it transformed into a fully smart government department in October 2013, Dubai Customs has been upgrading its array of smart services to ensure optimum satisfaction of both customers and the public.

Showcasing its latest technology developments in terms of smart services and advanced high-tech systems, Dubai Customs is eager to mark an exceptional participation at this year’s GITEX by introducing its smart breakthroughs and, at the same time, taking advantage of new technology advancements  on display by leading global ICT solution providers.

Throughout the five-day exhibition, Dubai Customs is presenting significant upgrades in its smart services, that were made faster and more user-friendly to cope with the rapidly changing world of service delivery.

Juma Al Ghaith, Executive Director of Customs Development Division, said "Dubai Customs is launching new mobile and smart watch services at Gitex, in line with Dubai Government’s vision to deliver integrated smart services.”

He further remarked that customers were engaged in the development and upgrade of smart services, by voicing their feedback and suggestions. Recognising what is exactly needed by customers helped DC tailor its website in a way that offers optimal user-friendliness and accessibility to services.

Al Ghaith noted that Customs strives to develop its package of services to stay abreast of emerging customer service technologies worldwide. “Upgrading Dubai’s public services to keep up with technological advancements will boost the Emirate’s competitive edge and ability to attract global trade and investment,” he said.

The fresh upgrades include the launch of a revamped Dubai Customs’ smart phone-enabled website and smart watch services. Dubai Customs’ smart watch site is compatible with all screen sizes of devices available in the market. The interface features windows that provide direct and easy access to the desired service.

The GITEX Technology Week is the leading regional technology platform that demonstrates best practices in government services. It gives Dubai Customs and all other participants a unique opportunity to learn about latest high-tech products and solutions, and seek to utilize them for future developments.
