Yesterday, on Sunday, 23rd, June, 2013, Dubai Customs has celebrated the occasion of “Haq Allaila” the mid-month of night of Shaban. The celebration underlines Dubai Customs` keenness on reviving all social inherited legacies, conversing the Emirates original traditions and instilling them into esteems of young and children.  

Dubai Customs events included an installation of  “a popular canteen” in the main building indoors seating area for selling sweets and traditional food with the participation of Childcare Centre buds wearing the traditional dress on this occasion and distributing sweets and nuts to employees and clients in all Customs Centres.     

The quarter of sales incomes of sweets and traditional food such porridge, Harisa, Balaleet (thin sweetened vercimili cooked with saffron and topped with omelette), have been designated to contribute to charitable activities.  

 “Dubai Customs` participation in such ceremony comes within the framework of social responsibility activities and as part of its mission to interact with the public together with sponsoring different activities and events particularly the inherited occasions of the country` people since hundreds of years that reflect moral values and family interrelation representing a form of social and family solidarity bringing about joy and delight in the hearts of children and their families as well as disseminating the spirit of love and intimacy among people” said Khalil Saqer, Director of Corporate Communication at Dubai Customs.    

 “the advent of the mid-night of Shaban carrying the redolence of the heritage ceremony that firmly established in the country` memory as “Haq Allaila”  substantiating a portrait of  social interrelation where youngsters  move from a house to another and Fareej to another  reiterating “Give us Al Mighty God Will Give You …. To the Holy Kaaba Will Take you” and greeting families with religious and social forms calling for family solidarity, mutual visits and kinship. 

Worth mentioning, the celebration of Haq Allaila is a distinguished tradition to which UAE`s society had been used since several years age where celebration takes place by exchanging visits, congratulations and distributing sweets to children to bring about joy and delight in their hearts.
