Dubai Culture Continues To Support Creatives Through Its 2022 Dubai Performing Arts Programme

Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture) announced the activities of its 2022 Dubai Performing Arts Programme taking place in September and October, offering the youth a valuable platform to develop their passion for music, singing, playwriting and theatre photography, and explore their artistic horizons.
Dubai Culture invites the most promising musical talents from Emiratis and residents aged 15 and over to join this programme that will provide a variety of specialised, interactive training workshops held in Al Jalila Cultural Centre for Children from 4 September to 1 October under the supervision of a distinguished musicians from the UAE and the world.
The ‘Strike a Chord’ music workshops aim to explore the musical potential of the participants in music playing and singing through rich interactive workshops, covering the piano with artist Alissa Dvorkina, the oud with artist Haidar Hassan Al Hakim, and the violin with Dr Mohammed Hamami. Workshops specialising in singing will also be offered with the artist Ayham Hamami.
Through these workshops, Dubai Culture aims to activate Dubai’s musical movement and establish a platform to discover talents from the new generations to enable them to go professional, thereby enriching the sector with young musical talents and strengthening the emirate's position as a global centre for culture, an incubator for creativity and a thriving hub for talent as well as the global capital of the creative economy.
The programme, in cooperation with the Akaas Visual Arts Centre, also includes interactive and theoritcal theatre photography workshops held in Al Jalila Cultural Centre for Children on 11 and 18 September, in addition to practical workshops in the same field that will be held in The Cultural & Scientific Association on 20, 21 and 22 September. In addition, Dubai Culture will provide specialised workshops in playwriting under the supervision of the well-known Emirati author, actor and director Marei Al Halyan at Al Twar Public Library from 3 to 13 October 2022.
Fatma Al Jallaf, Acting Director of the Performing Arts Department at Dubai Culture, stressed that these workshops are in line with the objectives of the Authority’s strategic roadmap by supporting, motivating and inspiring emerging talents in the emirate through innovative platforms for skill development in partnership with specialists from individuals and institutions. This is to ensure that these platforms are accessible by everyone towards qualifying a new generation of creatives in the field of performing arts, thereby contributing to achieving Dubai Culture’s vision and the emirate's cultural aspirations, especially given the importance of such programmes in providing care and attention to empower creative talents.
