Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry welcomed a delegation of officials and business leaders from the Spanish city of Granada as part of efforts to enhance bilateral relations.

H.E. Majid Al Shamsi, 1st Vice Chairman, Dubai Chamber, welcomed the members of the delegation led by H.E. Sebastian Perez Ortiz, President of the Council of Granada, who were visiting Dubai for a second time to promote investment opportunities in their city, located in southern Spain.

Seeking stronger two-way trade and investment between Granada and Dubai, the delegation included business leaders from water desalination, real estate, electricity generation and solar power, and personal care sectors.

Officials also discussed potential for cooperation in tourism, given Dubai’s status as an international destination and Granada’s rich cultural heritage and historical sites, including the Alhambra palace and fortress complex, dating back to the 9th century.

H.E. Al Shamsi highlighted Dubai Chamber’s commitment to providing support to the business community in Dubai and to overseas companies looking to establish a base in the Emirates. He thanked the delegations for their business briefs and promised to provide UAE contacts in their respective sectors.

His Excellency stressed the importance of working with Emirates Airline or Emirates Holidays to encourage a direct flight between the two cities to enhance tourism flows.

On his part, H.E. Ortiz thanked Dubai Chamber for its hospitality and extended an invitation for Dubai Chamber officials to visit Granada in the future.
