du celebrated five years of success at its annual employee gathering, held recently at Burj Park, in front of the iconic Burj Khalifa. In the presence of the company’s Chairman, Ahmed bin Byat and du’s Executive Management team, the du family enjoyed an exciting evening of entertainment. The company’s journey over the past five years, launch of the Emirati Call Centre in Fujairah and internal celebration of the UAE’s 40^th National Day were all celebrated through specially-created videos.

The evening focussed on the different implications of the phrase –time to look back at all the achievements since launch in 2007, look ahead at plans for the future and becoming more efficient to boost performance excellence.

Speaking at the event, Osman Sultan, CEO du, thanked the du family for their continued efforts towards excellence, which has led to the success the telecommunications company enjoys today. He said: “The combined efforts of our du family have been the basis of our success. You are our most important asset, and we would like to thank you all your continued dedication which has made us the fastest-growing telecommunications company in the UAE.

“In the next three years, I see us as becoming an even more substantial player in telecom – especially in mobile, enterprise and integrated home services space. With everything going digital, I want us to become a pioneer in this space. To put it simply, we will do things better, more efficiently and create more value through enhanced profitability and operational excellence. And of course, we will continue to invest in our assets, at the top of which is you - our human capital,” Sultan added.

The awards segment of the event saw Osman Sultan, CEO, Farid Faraidooni Chief Commercial Officer and Fahad Al Hassawi, Chief Human Resources & Shared Services Officer and the rest of the executive management team recognizing the best performing employees, in these categories: Brand Values Champion, Great Manager, Department Champion and Most Valuable Employees.

In further celebration of the du family’s abilities, the three finalists of du’s internal ‘We’ve Got Talent!’ competition, Alaaddin Shajrawi, Wilmer Rodriguez and duo Perditta and Savina, performed for their colleagues who voted live by SMS to pick the winner at the event.
