DPG’s successful ‘Light up your Eid’ art event displayslocal talent

Dubai Properties Group, master developer of world class destinations of Dubai including Business Bay, DUBAILAND, JBR and Culture Village, has expressed its delight at the success of its Light up your Eid event which took place last week. The developer has released a series of images of the stunning turnout that brightened two of its flagship destinations – Bay Avenue, located at the heart of Business Bay, and The Walk at JBR. 

Launched by DPG in collaboration with Dubai Culture & Arts Authority, Light up your Eid commissioned 16 artists based in the UAE to create and display art installations made of light throughout the special occasion of Eid. 

From October 15, visitors and residents enjoyed the remarkable art displays that lit up Bay Avenue and The Walk at JBR turning both destinations into festive, vibrant sights for four days during the holidays. Children were also invited to bring their artistic side to life and create lanterns which were then hung alongside the artist’s light installations. 

Speaking about the initiative, Sahar Al Ansari, Director of Real Estate Management at DPG, said: “Light up your Eid was very well received at both destinations and really showcased some of the impressive talent present in the UAE. DPG is pleased to have been able to support these artists by hosting such a popular event at its iconic destinations.” 

Creative Director & Artist, Alok Gadkar, who was one of the contributing artists of the Light of Life event said: “Light up your Eid  was a great platform for artists like myself to display our creations to the public. Events like these in an open public space such as The Walk at JBR really give our art exposure to people from all walks of life, bringing us closer to wider communities. It was great to see people’s reactions to our installations during the four days of the event and I look forward to participating in such an event again.”
