Downtown Rotana hosts “Teatro Cook Off” competition for the media

Downtown Rotana, the 5-star hotel in the heart of Manama centre, hosted a cooking competition in their award winning signature restaurant ‘Teatro Downtown’ for select members of the media and social media with a passion for cooking. All participants were given the opportunity to recreate a 3-course meal from the restaurant’s menu, while adding their own personal twists and touches.
The competition kicked off with a demonstration by the ‘Teatro’ Chefs followed by the contestants being given access to the kitchen and a set time-frame to reproduce the three dishes comprising starter, main course and dessert. The winner was selected following a tasting by a select panel of judges who evaluated all creations based on three key elements - taste, presentation, and individuality. The grand prize was a one- night’s stay at Downtown Rotana and all contestants were treated to a buffet lunch following the activity, at the hotel’s all-day dining venue ‘Flavours on 2’.
Following the competition, Mr. Patrice Cornee, General Manager of Downtown Rotana, stated: “The Teatro Cook-off event was a great success, we were very impressed with the contestants and their creativity, they came up with fantastic ways to recreate the Chef’s recipe. I would like to thank the participants and guests for attending and we look forward to hosting similar events in the future.”
Award-winning ‘Teatro Downtown’ is Downtown Rotana’s premiere restaurant venue featuring an East-meets-West within a cozy ambience designed with contemporary flair.
