The Department of Municipal Affairs organizes a blood donation campaign
In an initiative aimed at promoting the principles of social responsibility, human values and health the Department of Municipal Affairs in collaboration with the Blood Bank of the Sheikh Khalifa Medical City organized a blood donation campaign at the DMA building in Abu Dhabi. The campaign comes as part of the activities held in alignment with the World Blood Donor Day, which is celebrated annually on the 14th of June. The initiative was held also to encourage the employees and increase their awareness of the importance of participating in campaigns that promote human values, health and contribute to saving the lives of others as donating a sample of one of the blood could save the lives of three people.
His Excellency Eng. Ahmed Shareef, the Undersecretary of the Department of Municipal Affairs expressed his happiness with this campaign, saying "organizing such campaigns comes to support the social, humanitarian values and to strengthen the cooperation with the strategic partners in the health services sector, in addition to that it is a humanitarian activity that reinforce of the culture of the corporate social responsibility between the employees of DMA which is why we constantly strive to participate in all of the society related events.
The campaign had a good response by the employees of DMA, who saw the campaign as an opportunity to embody the spirit of social responsibility and the concept of humanity by helping others and extending a helping hand to patients in need of blood units. Lots of the employees stressed on the importance of holding such campaigns, especially those that may make a big difference in the lives of others.
