Diyar Al Muharraq Announces the Completion of the Landscaping Project at the City’s Entrance

Diyar Al Muharraq, the largest real estate development company in the Kingdom of Bahrain, announced the completion of the landscaping project at the entrance to the city, which extends over a distance of 1.15 kilometers. The project is in line with Diyar Al Muharraq’s afforestation project, launched last August under the patronage of His Excellency Eng. Wael bin Nasser Al Mubarak, Minister of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture. Daira Contracting were appointed to implement the project and used a variety of evergreen trees, shrubs, and a range of flowers and roses.  

The landscaping project comes as part of a series of initiatives under Diyar’s afforestation project, with the aim of increasing the green spaces and key facilities, including Hadiqat Al Diyar. The spaces and infrastructure across Diyar’s master plan have been designed with the intention of measurably improving the health and well-being of its residents and visitors by fostering a close-knit community and encouraging a healthy and active lifestyle. 

Stemming from its commitment to corporate social responsibility, Diyar strives to embed sustainability pillars in all its business operations and is dedicated to fulfilling national aspirations regarding the preservation and sustainability of the environment and increasing the Kingdom’s green space. Large evergreen trees were selected due to their suitability to the Kingdom’s climate conditions and their low water consumption. 

This project is in line with Diyar Al Muharraq’s initiatives to contribute to society and its vision of developing a modern, smart, and environmentally friendly city, with a minimized carbon footprint. It also aligns with the national strategy to increase the number of trees by 2035 and the Kingdom’s commitment to carbon neutrality by 2060.
