Talal Abu-Ghazaleh to discuss means of cooperation in the field of intellectual property rights (IPRs) protection and the prevention of entry of counterfeit and fake goods into Omani territories.

Colonel Khalifa bin Ali Al-Syabi, Director General of Omani Customs received in his office HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, chairman and founder of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Global (TAG.Global) to discuss means of cooperation in the field of intellectual property rights (IPRs) protection and the prevention of entry of counterfeit and fake goods into Omani territories.

Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh affirmed his pride in cooperating with government entities in the Sultanate particularly in the field of IPRs protection highlighting the importance of protecting citizens from fake products.

Moreover, Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh underlined the significance of protecting the country against smuggling which will consequently enhance protection of national economy and provide an appropriate environment for investments, as well as enabling an environment for creativity that takes national products to international horizons.

For his part, Col. Al-Syabi welcomed Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh affirming that Oman Royal Police represented by the General Directorate of Customs continuously develops and improves the Customs work in different fields, pointing to a number of procedures that have been enforced by the General Directorate to facilitate customs and trade measures, introducing a comprehensive matrix for measuring the Customs actual performance in facilitating trade and controlling ports and setting up an inclusive cooperation methodology with all stakeholders to simplify measures and provide the best services.
