DEWA organises series of charity initiatives to mark ‘Zayed Humanitarian Work Day’

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) is organising a series of charity and social events as part of its participation in ‘Zayed Humanitarian Work Day,’ launched by HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, Ruler of Dubai, as a tribute in memory of the father and the founder of the UAE, HH Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
The list of initiatives by DEWA includes lectures and seminars on charity work in collaboration with the Dubai Volunteering Center, as well as a weekly newsletter on the life of the founder of the UAE, HH Sheikh Zayed. DEWA will provide a designated space at all of their main buildings during the Holy Month of Ramadan to extend financial support to underprivileged Emirati families in collaboration with the Community Development Authority in Dubai.
“This humanitarian initiative launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, and Prime Minister of the UAE, Ruler of Dubai, underlines the vision of our leaders to help the underprivileged around the world. It highlights the social values inherent in the people of the UAE, with humanitarian assistance being central to our human development strategy,” said HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA.

The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) was formed on 1 January, 1992, by a decree issued by His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Rashid Al Maktoum to take over and merge the Dubai Electric Company and the Dubai Water Department that had been operating independently for several years until then.
