DEWA organises Sports Day

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has organised a Sports Day for its staff in collaboration with Dubai World Trade Centre. This is a part of DEWA’s corporate social responsibility and its commitment to boost employee morale, establish loyalty and belonging, and promote their team spirit and cooperation. Activities included football, volleyball, and cricket. DEWA fielded 12 teams, each comprising 13 employees from different branches of DEWA, who took part in the tournaments.
The Sports Day was held at Sheikh Saeed Hall in Dubai World Trade Centre. The tournaments were highly competitive and generated a great deal of enthusiasm, with many additional colleagues from DEWA coming along to support their teams.
These sport activities encourage sports and team spirit, solidarity, and connection among employees in their different divisions and departments at DEWA. They also help build their sports skills and capabilities, and foster a healthy and competitive work environment, which in turn will raises work morale and productivity.

The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) was formed on 1 January, 1992, by a decree issued by His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Rashid Al Maktoum to take over and merge the Dubai Electric Company and the Dubai Water Department that had been operating independently for several years until then.
