DEWA organises Health Awareness Day for women employees
Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has organised a Health Awareness Day for its women employees in cooperation with the Ministry of Health, The Friends of Arthritis Patients Society, Sultan Al Olama Medical Center, Jannati Spa, and Sanofi Inc. The Health Awareness Day included several activities such as blood pressure, sugar, cholesterol, and body mass index testing. It also included lectures on healthy lifestyle, the importance of exercising for the general health, and taking care of the skin care. Nutritionists were available to give advice to the employees.
“To support our corporate social responsibility, and the vision of Dubai to promote health and community care, DEWA organises health activities periodically. This supports the well-being of our female staff. We provide all possible support to them and provide a positive working environment according to the highest international standards in safety and health,” said Khawla Al Mehairi, Chairperson of DEWA’s Women’s Committee.
Al Mehairi commended the role of Ministry of Health in promoting community health and awareness in all society through its various programmes and activities in cooperation with governmental and private organisations.

The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) was formed on 1 January, 1992, by a decree issued by His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Rashid Al Maktoum to take over and merge the Dubai Electric Company and the Dubai Water Department that had been operating independently for several years until then.
