Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has dedicated AED 1 million as a donation to the humanitarian campaign launched by HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to clothe one million needy children around the world. DEWA has placed donation boxes inside its head office and all other branches as part of an internal campaign to collect donations from employees and customers.
HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has launched a Ramadan campaign to clothe one million deprived and needy children around the world. The campaign lasts until 19 Ramadan, which is Emirati Humanitarian Day and is also the ninth anniversary of the passing of HH the Late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
“His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai has made good and noble deeds in the field of humanitarian aid both nationally and internationally through various charity organisations and initiatives, including the Mohammed bin Rashid Humanitarian and Charity Establishment, Dubai Cares, Noor Dubai, and others. His Highness’ efforts aim to help the poor, the sick, widows, orphans, the needy, the distressed and afflicted people either in the UAE or all over the world,” said HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA.
“These initiatives reflect our visionary leadership’s relentless pursuit to implement good humanitarian and benevolent deeds to help the poor and the needy all over the world, since these humanitarian traits are genuine and deep-rooted in Emirati society. Also, these initiatives are part of human development in our society and are considered civilised characteristics of societies that are keen to consolidate social solidarity and support giving to the needy, regardless of their race, religion or language,” said Al Tayer.
To urge citizens to participate in this campaign, DEWA has placed donation boxes and has also sent emails to encourage donations from employees.
