DEWA awards grand prize winners of GITEX 2014 smart services campaign

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) presented the grand prize awards to the winners of its smart services campaign launched during GITEX 2014, to encourage customers to complete their transactions using DEWA’s smart app. Humaid Essa Buhumaid, Manager of Smart Adoption, from DEWA’s IT division, presented the prizes to the winners. These are three complete packages of smart devices, each is worth over AED 40,000 each. Each package included a Samsung Curve TV, Samsung Gear smart watch, an iPad, a Samsung Smart Phone, an iPhone 6, a Samsung Camera, OUYA Home Entertainment and a pair of Google Glasses.
All customers who paid their bills on DEWA’s smart App for three consecutive months between 1 August 2014 and 31 January 2015 qualified for the draw.

This supports the vision of our wise leadership to provide the best and smartest services according to the highest international standards, anytime, anywhere. The prizes support DEWA’s efforts to encourage its customers to use smart services and interact directly with DEWA, thereby adding to the efficiency of customer service delivery,” said Moza Al Akraf, Acting CIO of DEWA.
DEWA has recorded an outstanding achievement in smart services by winning the Best Government Service via Mobile Phone in the Environmental Sector at the 3rd Government Summit, underlining its focus on continuous improvement and providing the best services to all its customers.
DEWA provides all its services through its smart application, which supports most platforms such as iOS, Android, BlackBerry, Windows, Samsung home entertainment, Samsung Gear watches and eLife from Etisalat.

The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) was formed on 1 January, 1992, by a decree issued by His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Rashid Al Maktoum to take over and merge the Dubai Electric Company and the Dubai Water Department that had been operating independently for several years until then.
