DED extends working hours till 6 p.m. in all branches to enhance ease of doing business
The Business Registration & Licensing (BRL) Sector in the Department of Economic Development (DED) in Dubai has extended its working hours till 6 p.m. in all its branches as part of enhancing customer convenience and facilitating business.
The DED branches in Business village, Al Twar and the Dubai Mall will now remain open for business on split hours with the morning session from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. dedicated for stakeholders, partners and corporate managers while the second session from 1:30 to 6:00 is exclusively for PROs (public relation officers).
The move is part of DED’s efforts to continuously improve its services to facilitate businesses and sustainable economic development as well as enhance communication with customers and ease of doing business. Mohammed Shael Al Saadi, Chief Executive of Business Registration and Licensing sector in DED stated that the split hours will provide business owners and investors with better quality services.
“The split hours will ensure more efficient work flow and PROs will especially find it easier to complete their transactions in the afternoon as it suits the nature of their job. Only those who hold PRO cards issued by DED will be able to make use of this exclusive facility,” Shael said.
Shael added that DED has co-ordinated with partner banks and ‘Afaq’ to facilitate fee collection during the extended working hours. “Through this step BRL is offering added value to customers and working with them to eliminate the obstacles they face in doing business. DED is always looking out for the best solutions to enhance customer convenience, thereby improving Dubai’s rankings in the Doing Business Report of the World Bank.”
BRL already has 98 per cent of its services available on the website www.dubaided.gov.ae and through the smart phone application (App) ‘Business in Dubai.’
Shaal said businesses can also complete a one-time registration at ‘My E-Identity’ initiative and benefit from DED online services. ‘My E-Identity’ allows users to complete transactions with all government bodies with the help of their Emirates ID and a registered user name and password.
