Georgetown University in Qatar’s next on-campus admissions event, “A Day in the Life of a Georgetown Student,” will be held on January 20th, from 3:30 to 5:00 pm, where prospective high school students and transfer students can experience firsthand what it’s like to be a Georgetown student.

A fun and engaging program of events featuring Georgetown’s own students, world class faculty, and dedicated staff, will provide a snapshot of university life that goes far beyond what any brochure or website can offer. Prospective students will have the opportunity to experience Georgetown courses, follow in the footsteps of students through a tour of the state of the art

Education City campus, and talk to current students in a Q&A to gain insights on every facet of University life. With the February 1st application deadline rapidly approaching, prospective students and especially current applicants will also benefit from valuable information and guidance regarding the application.

“Aspiring Georgetown students have questions,” says Joseph Hernandez, Director of Admissions, “We’re pleased to provide them a venue where those questions can easily and fully be answered by our faculty, students, and staff, the same people who will welcome and support them through their university experience. A Day in the Life allows young people to imagine themselves as members of our vibrant campus community.”

Interested future students will also learn more about the four majors offered at GU-Q, including International Politics, International Economics, International History and Culture & Politics. Beyond the core majors, the program will also highlight the university’s three certificate programs: Arab and Regional Studies; American Studies, and the Media and Politics.

“We want to help prospective students envision where a Georgetown degree can take them, personally and professionally,” Hernandez said. “Students will learn about alumni experiences and careers post-graduation.”

Potential students will also benefit from application tips that will be shared. Admissions staff will be on hand to provide helpful tips about the application process.

The Qatar campus of Georgetown University offers students a Bachelor of Science in Foreign Service (BSFS), a four-year liberal arts degree that stresses multidisciplinary studies in a global context. GU-Q delivers the same internationally ranked foreign affairs curriculum that is offered at the main campus in Washington D.C., founded in 1789. The event is free and open to the public. Though registration is not required, students are highly encouraged to register for the event through the website. Photo identification is required to gain entrance to the Georgetown Building.
