The Community Development Authority in Dubai Advances Its Leadership With Its Second Sustainability Report
The Community Development Authority in Dubai (CDA) has launched its second Sustainability Report, underscoring its commitment to embedding sustainability as a comprehensive institutional approach. The report comes within the framework of the UAE’s Year of Sustainability 2023–2024 and in accordance with the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), the world’s most widely adopted framework for sustainability reporting, which promotes the highest standards of transparency in disclosing environmental, social, and economic impacts.
The report’s aligns with the Dubai Government’s direction to reinforce sustainable development principles and further position the emirate as a leading global model in quality of life, good governance, and comprehensive sustainability.
Her Excellency Hessa bint Essa Buhumaid, the Director General of the Community Development Authority in Dubai (CDA), affirmed that the report represents a strategic milestone in advancing institutional performance and strengthening its sustainable impact. She noted that it reflects the Authority’s commitment to integrating sustainability across its operational and strategic practices, in line with Dubai Government priorities, while enhancing institutional efficiency, transparency, and future readiness.
Her Excellency said: “The report serves as a key reference for data driven decision making, enabling more accurate and effective measurement of social impact, and supporting the development of future initiatives and programmes through more innovative and proactive approaches. This reinforces the Authority’s role in driving sustainable community development and maximizing its impact on society.”

The report highlights the CDA’s performance across Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) dimensions, covering initiatives related to empowerment and community engagement, social inclusion and diversity, resource management, climate action, and social investments. It also outlines advancements in governance frameworks and risk management systems, ensuring the highest levels of transparency and institutional efficiency.
The report showcases a range of programmes and initiatives implemented over the past two years, focusing on strengthening social cohesion and raising environmental awareness through awareness campaigns, community activites, and educational workshops. It also includes initiatives aimed at improving resource efficiency and reducing environmental impact, reflecting the Authority’s commitment to delivering services through a sustainable, innovation-driven, and continuously improving approach.
