Using ergonomic engineering and 3D scanning instruments, Huawei Audio Lab was able to analyse and contribute insights to wearing comfort.

In terms of functionality, the design of the HUAWEI FreeBuds Pro plays a vital role in its noise cancellation features. The square-shaped stem delivers core functions of sound pick up and noise reduction of the entire audio device. Keeping in mind wind and noise resistance, the HUAWEI FreeBuds Pro boasts a hydrodynamic wind-proof design for the overall earphone stem shape and sound pickup holes. This design effectively eliminates wind noise caused by air blowing at the pickup holes. Simply put, this means that listening to music or speaking with your earphones won’t be affected even when you’re walking, running or cycling. 

Speaking of noise cancellation, the HUAWEI FreeBuds Pro comes with intelligent dynamic active noise cancellation feature that recognizes and eliminates all the noise around the user to enhance the audio experience. By using dual microphones positioned inside and outside the earbuds, the HUAWEI FreeBuds Pro quickly identifies ambient noise in the environment and switches between three noise cancellation modes, the Ultra Mode for enhanced noise cancellation that tunes out every kind of disturbance, Cozy Mode that reduces environmental noises like paper flipping, typing, computers or conversations in a quiet environment and the General Mode, that greatly reduces the ambient noises in any environment. Meanwhile, Awareness Mode reduces the ambient noise around users, but at the same time will ensure they are alerted by surrounding sounds such as announcements, vehicles etc. On the hand, Voice Mode, properly reduces ambient sound but filters other’s voices clearly. This means that even with noise cancellation turned on, users can hear and have conversations with people and hear them clearly without having to remove the earphones. The HUAWEI FreeBuds Pro also uses a combination of a three microphone system and Bone voiceprint for noise cancellation.
