CLYMB™ Yas Island, Abu Dhabi and Active Abu Dhabi Launch Junior Climbers, a Free Community Initiative Inspiring the Next Generation Through Climbing

CLYMB™ Yas Island, Abu Dhabi, in collaboration with Active Abu Dhabi, has launched Junior Climbers, a new community initiative designed to inspire young people to embrace active lifestyles through the exciting sport of climbing.

Developed for young people aged 12 to 16, the free five-day programme introduces participants to climbing in a safe, supportive and world-class environment, encouraging them to discover a new passion while developing confidence, resilience, teamwork and leadership skills.

Taking place across four weekly sessions from 27 July to 21 August 2026, Junior Climbers will welcome 60 participants during its inaugural edition. Delivered by CLYMB™ Yas Island, Abu Dhabi's certified climbing instructors, the programme has been designed to make climbing more accessible to the community while encouraging young people to stay active throughout the summer.

Throughout the programme, participants will learn climbing fundamentals and essential safety techniques while developing movement, endurance and problem-solving skills through a structured curriculum that builds both technical ability and personal confidence. The experience culminates in a final climbing challenge, celebrating each participant's progress and achievements.

By offering Junior Climbers free of charge, CLYMB™ Yas Island, Abu Dhabi and Active Abu Dhabi aim to remove barriers to participation and inspire more young people to experience the physical, mental and social benefits of climbing, while fostering healthier and more active lifestyles across the community. Supporting Active Abu Dhabi's mission to build a healthier and more active community, Junior Climbers is one of a series of initiatives designed to encourage less physically active young people to embrace healthy lifestyle habits through free, enjoyable and accessible experiences in a safe and supportive environment.

Each weekly programme accommodates between 12 and 15 participants, ensuring personalised coaching and hands-on guidance throughout the experience. Junior Climbers will run daily from 10:00 AM to 2:30 PM across four sessions:

27 - 31 July – Boys
3 - 7 August – Boys
10 - 14 August – Boys
17 - 21 August – Girls

The initiative reflects the shared commitment of CLYMB™ Yas Island, Abu Dhabi and Active Abu Dhabi to creating more opportunities for young people to embrace active lifestyles through engaging sporting experiences. By introducing climbing to a new generation in a fun, safe and inclusive environment, Junior Climbers aims to inspire lifelong participation in physical activity while strengthening confidence, resilience and a spirit of adventure.

Registration for Junior Climbers is now open. Participation is free of charge, with places limited and allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
