Click. Verify. Connect. Ooredoo Launches Theqa Digital ID in-App

Ooredoo is the first telco in Oman to integrate the government’s Theqa Digital Identity authentication within its app. The new feature lets customers verify their identity instantly and securely when purchasing a SIM or completing onboarding. 

Whether they’re new or existing users, Omani nationals or residents, verification now happens in seconds - no ID cards, no card readers, no paperwork.

Customers can now complete end-to-end onboarding within the app. Every verification is processed in real time through the national Theqa platform, ensuring the highest standards of security, privacy, and KYC compliance.

This is Phase 1 of Ooredoo’s Theqa rollout, covering in-app onboarding. Phase 2 will expand to the Ooredoo eShop and retail outlets, bringing a unified, paperless verification experience across all channels.

By adopting Theqa, Ooredoo reinforces its commitment to Oman Vision 2040 and the nation’s digital transformation. The initiative, developed in collaboration with Oman National CERT, highlights Ooredoo’s continuous drive to innovate, simplify, and enrich the digital lives of its customers.
