The Chief Executive Officer of Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA), Mr. Nader Al Moayyed, applauded the efforts of the organizers and participants of the 31st edition of the Autumn Fair, which was held under the patronage of the Minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism and Chairman of BTEA, His Excellency Mr. Zayed bin Rashid Al Zayani.

Held between the 23rd and 31st of January at the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre (BIECC), the Autumn Fair 2020 attracted 159,217 visitors. The event featured an extensive variety of merchandise that was sold from over 650 exhibitors from 16 countries around the world, namely, Bahrain, China, Egypt, India, Kuwait, Lebanon, Morocco, Oman, Pakistan, Palestine, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Tunisia, Turkey, UAE, and Yemen. The fair also included specialty food stalls featuring culinary delights from around the world, alongside the variety of stalls dedicated to fashion, beauty, home décor, technology, toys, textiles and more.

“Autumn Fair is one of Bahrain’s biggest and most popular events which brings together local, regional and international retailers who offer a variety of products, attracting a large number of visitors from the Kingdom of Bahrain and abroad. This event comes in line with the BTEA’s efforts to drive the development of the tourism sector and we will continue to support such events as we also strive to further promote the Kingdom’s Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions (MICE) sector,” said the CEO of BTEA, Mr. Nader Al Moayyed.

The Autumn Fair 2020 aims to support the development of the Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions (MICE) sector, one of the fundamental pillars of the BTEA’s strategy aimed at developing and strengthening the tourism sector under the slogan ‘Ours. Yours’, which contributes towards the Kingdom’s economy and 2030 Economic Vision.

Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BETA)

Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority was established in 2015 under the Royal Decree number (76) for the year 2015 issued by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of Bahrain. Whereas the first clause of the Decree number (10) stated that an authority should be established under the supervision of the Council of Ministers

In 2015, BTEA started its operations under the Decree number (9) for the year 2015 to append the Tourism Affairs to the Ministry of Industry and Commerce based on the recommendation of HRH Prime Minister and under the law number (62) of the year 2016 to establish and regulate the Bahrain Exhibition and Convention Authority (BECA) and the Decree number (1) for the year 1985 to establish a Supreme Council for Tourism, and the law number (15) for the year 1986 to regulate the Tourism sector amended by a Law by Decree number (12) for the year 1994.
