Capital Club celebrates the taste of India

Take the animated exuberance of food from the streets of India and combine it with the incomparable elegance and unparalleled service of the Capital Club and the result can only be an evening that must be remembered. On Wednesday 16 May, the streets of India came alive in the heart of DIFC, as the Capital Club Dubai transformed their fourth into a humming heart of exotic activity with an Indian Street Food Festival.
Members and guests feasted as chaat, pav, pakora, and samosas, to name but a few, were expertly created before their eyes, delighted in a smorgasbord of sweet delicacies, and indulged a premium selection of beverages from the subcontinent. The evening was filled with the aromas of beautiful dishes being created, with the undeniable culinary star of the night, the perfectly seasoned dosas - that took shape under the chef’s expert ministrations as onlookers kept avid watch. While in the background the sounds of skilfully blended new and traditional music made sure sure that everyone was kept wonderfully entertained.
Bill Loveday, Capital Club General Manager said, “We are always looking for new and exciting ways to provide our members and guests with wonderful experiences and we are looking forward to continuing exploring the culinary bounties of the world, with more events of this kind in the future.”
Along with the evening’s festivities, volunteers from the Al Noor Training Centre for Children with Special Needs were at the Club throughout the evening to show the amazing work being done at the Centre, and present the wonderful things on offer through their Smiles n’ Stuff project. Smiles n’ Stuff is Al Noor’s very own vocational training gift and coffee shop. It is the only one of its kind in the GCC, where all the products are handcrafted by children with special needs, and on the evening members and guests could select from the wide selection of beautifully crafted products they had on offer.
The goal of Al Noor’s Vocational Training Unit is to make children skilled and productive members of the community and training is offered in the Carpentry, Screen Printing, Sewing, and Bakery Units. This initiative also helps raise awareness and funds for Al Noor Training Centre. On Wednesday the wonderful work they do not be on display, but everyone had the chance to learn more about how they can support Al Noor to continue to help others.
Al Noor Training Centre’s representative on the evening commented, “The important work we do at Al Noor would not be possible without the support of our community. We are very pleased to have the opportunity to collaborate with the Capital Club, as corporate responsibility is one of their true core values, and we look forward to further strengthening our ties with the Dubai business community.
