Canon Middle East organises photo competition for Dubai Autism Center Children

In its continued spirit to serve the community, Canon Middle East, a leader in imaging solutions, recently organized a special photo competition for the children of Dubai Autism Centre at a fun filled event held at the Jebel Ali Golf Resort and Spa on the occasion of Mothers’ Day. 

The activity, which is a key component of Canon’s 10 Year Anniversary Festivities, witnessed children from Dubai Autism Centre participate in a photo competition during which children were encouraged to capture picturesque views around the Jebel Ali Golf Resort and Spa. The top 8 winners were awarded with prizes and certificates from Canon. Canon’s 10 Year Anniversary Festivities of regional headquarters is being celebrated over a period of 10 months.

The children from the centre were the main stars of the occasion, with lots of prizes and tasty treats to engage them throughout the morning. Additionally, Canon also invited several other children of the Centre to take pictures of the event and present these ‘photography treasures’ that highlighted special moments of celebrations with their mothers on the occasion of Mother’s Day.

Commenting on the organization of this special event, Mai Youssef, Corporate Communications Manager, Canon Middle East, said, “At Canon, we actively support our communities, build goodwill, foster understanding, and create lasting bonds with our neighbors. Ms. Youssef further added, “It was a day of excitement and enjoyment not only for the Dubai Autism Centre children but also for their parents who expressed immense happiness at seeing their children interacting and enjoying themselves”. 

Canon employees left no stone unturned to make the initiative a successful one which ensured putting smiles on the children’s faces. Parents were pleased to see their children participate in a variety of fun and interactive games with their friends and families.

Sara Baker, community service unit head, from Dubai Autism Center commented, “It is a wonderful coincidence that Canon celebrates its 10^th year anniversary as we have just finished out 10^th year at the Dubai Autism Center. Photography has been introduced to our kids a few years ago showing huge interest to some of our talented individuals. On behalf of DAC, I wish to genuinely than Canon for engaging our children in their celebrations and for donating not only their precious time but also for their wonderful giveaways.”

Canon has recently donated 25 Cameras for use at the Dubai Autism Center.
