Canon captures Dubai with a unique perspective

Canon Middle East, a leader in imaging solutions today, announced the launch of its exciting collection of consumer products in the region at a special event held in Dubai.
Hosted under the creative theme of ‘#ComeAndSeeMyArabia’, Canon unveiled its latest collection including hero models such as the EOS 750D, 760D and M3, PowerShot models such as SX710 HS and SX530HS, Legria models such as HF R66, HFR R68 and HF R606 along with PIXMA photo printers.
As part of the launch event, Canon invited ten social media influencers from the Middle East region and in association with Gulf Photo Plus, a leading photography institute, organised an exciting photo tour of Dubai. Attendees visited distinct locations in the city and captured Dubai with a unique and creative perspective putting the newly launched cameras through its paces.
Some of the areas visited included the rustic lanes of Bastakiya in Bur Dubai, the chic and funky Box Park along Al Wasl Road, the awe-inspiring iconic skyline of Sheikh Zayed Road and the vibrant Deira fish market. The city tour was spread over two days and also included a session capturing the golden hour of sunrise and sunsets as well as a parkour stunt that provided great content for the photographs.
The two-day activity concluded with a photography exhibition hosted at the GPP headquarters where the photographs clicked by the attendees were displayed for viewing.
“Canon’s brand promise is to help people realise the power of image. The new range of products demonstrates Canon’s unparalleled expertise in imaging and reflects the innovation and uniqueness the company strives for, to provide the best technology to its users,” said Hendrik Verbrugghe, Marketing Director, Canon Middle East.
“Most of the time, in the hustle and bustle of life we often overlook, and at times, take our surroundings for granted. At Canon, we want to help consumers enjoy their cities in all its glory. The ‘#ComeandSeeMyArabia’ campaign embodies this spirit, and urges every one to acknowledge the beauty of their world around,” added Verbrugghe.
Acclaimed photographer Katarina Premfors, who guided and gave the attendees photography tips during the two-day event, supported the unique campaign as she felt Dubai has more to offer than just skyscrapers.
“Photography is all about observation; seeing things which we otherwise tend to miss. There are several places in Dubai that allow you to experience the city like never before. I hope Canon’s campaign inspires everyone to explore their creative sides and discover unique elements of their cities,” said Premfors.
Taking the #ComeandSeeMyArabia campaign to the next level, Canon will also launch a city guide based on the Dubai tour which will contain rich editorial content such as photography hints, tips and inspiring imagery of Dubai. The guides will be hosted online on the Canon Middle East website and will be available for downloads.
