Canadian Specialist Hospital conducts free health and wellbeing checks to prevent rise in diabetes

In its bids to increase awareness ahead of World Diabetes Day, Canadian Specialist Hospital (CSH), one of the largest private hospitals in Dubai catering to the tertiary health care needs of the Middle East, will be conducting a range of complimentary healthcare-related activities, including free check-ups, aimed at education, prevention and treatment of the condition. 

On Sunday 11 November, 2012, between 10.00am and 4.00pm at its premises in Abu Hail, CSH will be giving residents of all age groups a chance to benefit from free check-ups in its efforts to help prevent the rise in diabetes. Trained CSH health checkers will be available on the day to carry out free blood pressure and blood glucose testing. These services will be available without the need for appointments and residents are urged to just turn up on the day.

Patients and visitors can also take advantage of CSH’s expertise through complimentary consultations conducted by special Diabetic Educators, who will educate the concerned parties on diabetes management, diet, exercise, prevention and lifestyle programmes.

It is important to stress that with the correct medical advice and testing, diabetes can be an avoidable condition. In addition to the check-ups and consultations, CSH will also be giving away healthy snacks and gift hampers to visitors on the day to highlight the messages of diabetes and promote an active lifestyle and healthy diet.
