Reiterating its support to the Kuwait Association for Care of Children in Hospital (KACCH), the Public Relations representatives in Burgan Bank visited "Bayt Abdulla” headquarters to gift the children special toys and games. The annual visit is aimed at drawing smiles on the faces of the children and to raise their spirits during their treatments.

Bayt Abdullah was established as the first children’s hospice in the Middle East and provides the highest standard of multi-professional palliative care and family support to children with life-limiting or life-threatening illnesses. This partnership between Burgan Bank and KACCH includes various visits and activities over the course of the year including this annual visit to donate toys. The toys will be distributed to all hospitals including “Jaber Hospital” to provide the children with joy while attending telehealth sessions with child life specialists, which aim to develop their leadership skills and refine personality traits from a young age. This initiative falls within the bank's corporate social responsibility framework that strives to alleviate suffering and provide optimal care to families of children with cancer in hospitals such as Bait Abdullah.

On this occasion, Manager - Public Relations, Ms. Hessa Hussain Al-Najadah said: “For the 19th year in a row, Burgan Bank is proud to be one of the strongest and longest standing supporters of the Kuwait Association for Care of Children in Hospital (KACCH) and Bayt Abdullah Children’s Hospice (BACCH) of children coping with the stress of illnesses and treatments.

Ms. Al-Najadah continues, “Burgan Bank maintains its trust in the important work and duty of (KACCH) as it contributes to providing high quality care including co-curricular activities and entertainment through Child Life programs and fully equipped playrooms in the pediatric wards in 7 government hospitals, while providing palliative care services for children suffering from life-limiting or life-threatening illnesses in Bayt Abdullah. The bank also believes in the necessity of supporting humanitarian initiatives that contribute to achieving a sustainable society”.

Mrs. Margaret Al-Sayer, founding Director of KACCH, said” We value the longstanding support and acknowledgment of Burgan Bank for our work at Bayt Abdullah and seven government hospitals across Kuwait. Our KACCH and BACCH teams provide essential services that makes a positive impact on the lives of many hundreds of patients and their families who are admitted to the hospitals, or who suffer from life limiting or life-threatening conditions and receive our palliative care services at Bayt Abdullah. We would like to thank the management and the staff of Burgan Bank for continuing to support our efforts to maintain and develop our child life and palliative care programs for the benefit of these children and their families even during this unprecedented time of COVID 19”.

Burgan Bank will continue to aid the association and Bayt Abdullah and other similar initiatives by likeminded institutions who uphold humanitarian values and contribute to the advancement of society.

Burgan Bank's support of this initiative falls under its full-fledged community program entitled ‘ENGAGE’ – Together to be the change. This program sheds light on important aspects affecting every segment of the society by promoting social welfare through educational, cultural, social and health initiatives. Burgan Bank’s approach to 'ENGAGE' begins with a vital principle that as a Kuwaiti financial institution, its conduct and policies should be aligned with the needs and interests of the Kuwaiti society.
