Burgan Bank Concludes its Sponsorship of Dar Al-Athar Al-Islamiyyah’s 9th Annual Fall Festival
In line with its ongoing efforts to support and advance Kuwait’s arts and culture fields, Burgan Bank concluded its sponsorship of Dar Al-Athar Al-Islamiyyah’s (DAI) ninth annual Fall Festival. The event, held at Yarmouk Culture Center, welcomed over 1,000 visitors of all ages, and numerous artists who performed live music and theatre acts as well as facilitated workshops and activities for the whole family.
Burgan Bank’s continued support of DAI’s seasonal events comes as part of its comprehensive social responsibility strategy, which aims to preserve Kuwaiti culture and national heritage through sponsoring artists and supporting cultural events. It further aligns with the Bank’s committed adherence to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) practices within the banking sector.
This year, DAI dedicated the Fall Festival to capturing and reenacting 1980s Kuwaiti art scene in its vibrant dynamism that iconically defined various arts from music to theatre and other forms of visual and performative arts. This year’s edition was warmly welcomed by the audiences, engulfing older generations in nostalgia while introducing the younger generations to a chapter in Kuwait’s art history that still bears influence on today’s popular culture.
In addition to its role in supporting Kuwait’s arts and culture, the Fall Festival also marks an annual opportunity for small-and-medium-sized businesses to reach a wider audience through its arts bazaar, Burgan Bank’s yearlong support for business owners and the Kuwaiti youth, as well as reaffirming the Bank’s faith in their role in reinforcing the national economy and fueling its sustainable growth.
Burgan Bank also participated in the festival through its own booth, which offered a range of interactive competitions and activities that were met with great enthusiasm from children and families. In addition, the Bank’s representatives distributed gifts to visitors, adding a special atmosphere to the festival experience.
Upholding its support for the “Let’s Be Aware” (Diraya) financial literacy and banking awareness campaign – launched and supervised by the Central Bank of Kuwait (CBK) and the Kuwait Banking Association (KBA), with the support of Kuwaiti banks – Burgan Bank representatives shared awarness tips on safe online banking, and how to avoid fraud attempts.
As part of its commitment to social responsibility and sustainability pillars, Burgan Bank continues to support a range of key sectors such as health, through awareness initiatives and partnerships that enhance health awareness, in addition to supporting entrepreneurship by empowering business owners and encouraging innovation among youth. The bank also seeks to strengthen the environmental sector through sustainable activities that contribute to raising environmental awareness, in line with New Kuwait 2035.
