Bee’Ah to Sponsor Sharjah Women’s Sport Foundation’s Self-Defence and Table Tennis Teams
Sharjah Women’s Sport Foundation (SWSF) has announced that its latest sponsorship agreement has been signed with Sharjah Environment Company (Bee’ah). The organisation says that its most recent agreement is in keeping with its dedication to forging strategic partnerships with state organisations and private institutions, with the aim of elevating women’s sports in the UAE in general and in Sharjah in particular.
The sponsorship agreement between the two parties stipulates that Bee’ah, Sharjah’s leading integrated environmental and waste management company, will extend sponsorship, financial and logistic support to all table tennis and self-defence teams operating under the umbrella of SWSF. The foundation, for its turn, will reciprocate by providing Bee’ah with promotional spaces at all of its events and activities.
“Our latest strategic collaboration sees us join hands with one of the leading companies in the field of preservation of the environment and promotion of sustainable development. We are looking forward to extending participatory institutional work that contributes to furthering the elevation of women in sports, locally and regionally,” said HE Nada Askar Al Naqbi, Director General of SWSF.
“At SWSF, we seek to support our clubs and female athletes and provide them with everything they need to participate and compete in local, regional and international competitions and tournaments, thereby enhancing the position of the UAE on the global sports stage and highlighting the unparalleled support given by the country’s wise leadership to Emirati female athletes,” she added.
For his part, HE Khaled Al Huraimel, CEO of Bee’ah, said: “Bee’ah is delighted with its most recent collaboration, which sees us cooperate with SWSF, one of the leading entities that seeks to elevate women’s sport in the UAE. Through this agreement we aim to establish a contractual formula that enables us to support and sponsor our female sports teams in keeping with our responsibility towards our community and our country.”
The sponsorship agreement reflects the efforts of SWSF, the remit of which is to further the progression of Emirati women in sports, develop their capacity and help them excel at every level. Aligning with SWSF’s commitment to creating a generation of young female athletes who have advanced skills in sport and healthy ways of life, it will assist those athletes whose goal is to represent the UAE at international sports. It will also provide them with every opportunity to further their capabilities by ensuring that they can make the most of SWSF’s considerable resources and expertise.
SWSF was established under an Emiri decree in November 2016 by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Muhammad bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council Ruler of Sharjah. Chaired by Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, wife of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, the foundation strives to create a cadre of female national athletes and develop human capital in the field of women’s sport. It also seeks to create a talented generation of women leaders in the field of sports, promote sports as a culture and provide a stimulating environment that contributes to elevating the discipline.
Founded in 2007, Bee’ah - Sharjah’s fastest growing environmental and recycling management company - aims to foster a culture of sustainable development in the UAE and strives to position Sharjah as the ‘Environmental Capital of the Middle East.’ The company has built the largest recycling facility in the region and the third largest one in the world. It also operates five separate facilities, each one dedicated to managing and recycling certain types of waste, such as residential waste and non-compactable materials.
