As part of its ongoing collaboration with the Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs, Bank Nizwa is offering people the opportunity to pay their Zakat (almsgiving) and contribute with Sadaqah (charity) payments though two dedicated accounts. This payment channel is open to everyone including those who do not have accounts with Bank Nizwa allowing contributions to be deposited and transferred with ease, while utilizing the bank’s Zakat calculator feature online, on-the-go and throughout its 11 branches across the Sultanate.
Dr. Ashraf Nabhan Al Nabhani, General Manager Corporate Support at Bank Nizwa, said, “Zakat is an important pillar of Islam and an integral part of the Holy Month of Ramadan. It helps us connect with our communities and serves as a reminder to appreciate and share what we have. As such, our Zakat and Sadaqah accounts will allow people to contribute in a quick, easy and efficient manner. We welcome single, multiple and successive contributions, which ultimately provide a shared feeling of compassion during the Holy Month.”
The bank’s Sadaqah account 001-22200222-001 is in association with Oman Charitable Organisation. Contributors can also pay Zakat to account number 001-22211222-001 by a standing order or a direct deposit through ATM/CCDMs and by utilizing the bank’s online and mobile channels to transfer the money directly to the accounts.
