Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority Opens Registration to Vatel Hotel and Tourism Business School

In line with its strategy to further develop the skills of nationals within the hospitality and tourism sector, the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) announces the commencement of registration to the ‘Vatel Hotel and Tourism Business School’. Interested students can now register via the website (Vatel.bh) prior to the official launch of the school in October 2018.

Vatel currently has 31 schools, 7,000 students and over 29,000 alumni who are a living proof of the success of its unique teaching concept further positioning the school as the first worldwide Business School Group in Hospitality and Tourism Management.

“Today, our main focus is to provide the best qualification for Bahrainis by creating academic and professional opportunities through our mutual collaboration with Vatel Hotel and Tourism Business School that is renowned for its expertise in this sector,” said the Chief Executive Officer of BTEA, H.E Shaikh Khaled bin Humood Al Khalifa.

H.E Shaikh Khaled also added, “In line with our ongoing efforts to enhance the hospitality sector in the Kingdom of Bahrain, BTEA is proud of its collaboration with Vatel aimed at providing and delivering academic programs to Bahrainis,”.

“A total of 25 students will be selected to enroll in the school, furthermore, the students will be matched with jobs that meet their academic qualifications.”, he also added.

The first Vatel School opened in Paris with a unique and fundamental educational method: having theoretical courses followed by a professional experience using what had been learned in class. To achieve this, each Vatel School had an application restaurant and/or hotel right on the Campus where students could check their knowledge through professional application of it with real customers.

Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority was established in 2015 under the Royal Decree number (76) for the year 2015 issued by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of Bahrain. Whereas the first clause of the Decree number (10) stated that an authority should be established under the supervision of the Council of Ministers

In 2015, BTEA started its operations under the Decree number (9) for the year 2015 to append the Tourism Affairs to the Ministry of Industry and Commerce based on the recommendation of HRH Prime Minister and under the law number (62) of the year 2016 to establish and regulate the Bahrain Exhibition and Convention Authority (BECA) and the Decree number (1) for the year 1985 to establish a Supreme Council for Tourism, and the law number (15) for the year 1986 to regulate the Tourism sector amended by a Law by Decree number (12) for the year 1994.
