Gadget-lovers, phone fanatics and all those obsessed with technology now have a seriously engaging place to meet and exchange views with people on the same wavelength as them: the axiom community, the online platform where techies and enthusiasts can interact.

The online platform, available at www.axiomcommunity.com, is a community for members to seek support, get phone problems sorted, and get the low-down on the latest technology trends and the hottest new gadgets available. Members of the axiom community also receive information about the latest promotions, sales and product launches at axiom.

The axiom community is open to members and non-members, but people need to register to post comments and join in conversations. Once registered with the axiom community, members can post their own questions, help fix other members’ problems, or just chill out in the axiom lounge.

“At axiom, we pride ourselves on being all about communication, and one-way communication between a brand and its customers is no longer enough,” said Faisal Al Bannai, axiom CEO. “By creating the axiom community we are engaging with our target audience in the way they want to be communicated with and delivering on the axiom promise of excellent customer service and commitment to continuous innovation.”

According to the Harvard Business Review, brand community members buy more, remain loyal, and reduce marketing costs through grassroots evangelism. Customers in the UAE are among the most brand-loyal in the world, according to the most recent Ernst & Young MENA Customer Barometer from 2012. The study showed that 31 per cent of respondents in the UAE said brands influence their purchasing decision, compared with 25 per cent in the UK and US.

While the axiom community is supported by a team of digital customer service experts and a Community Manager, who handle all the engagement and relations with end users, the aim is to encourage community members to be as active as possible. Brand communities generate more value when members control them, according to the Harvard Business Review.

The goal of the axiom community is to give and get help, with members being able to interact with axiom consultants and each other. Members highlight when they have accepted a solution to a problem, making it easier for other axiom community members to find solutions to similar problems.

Members who are active posters on the axiom community can earn Kudos – digital thumbs up, given by other members for helpful responses to questions or for popular posts. Great answers that get lots of kudos will be easier for other users to find in the future, and the axiom community highlights the most acknowledged authors and posts – so members get recognition for their help.

The axiom community also allows axiom to engage with members and highlight the company’s value-added services including pick-up, delivery and repair, 60-second data transfer, and express repair services.

Members of the axiom community can also watch experts putting the latest gadgets to the test – including the axiom extreme testing clips, which feature advocates of branded handsets testing their smartphones under extreme conditions, from go-karting to recording videos underwater.

The axiom lounge allows members to engage in more general conversations, with popular topics ranging from smartphone preferences to favourite sports teams.

“The axiom community allows us to improve our support experience, creates new channels for us to engage with customers, and creates that unique place for like-minded people to meet and interact with each other,” Al Bannai said. “It really is a genuinely fun, innovative experience we can create for our tech-savvy customers.”
