Author of Utopia, Ahmed Towfik, to speak about his literary work at AUC

A public lecture, “Meet the Author,” by writer Ahmed Khaled Towfik, one of the Arab world's bestselling authors of fantasy and horror genres and also a medical professor at Tanta University, to discuss his book Utopia, at The American University in Cairo (AUC).
Tawfik, will be discussing Utopia, in the “One Book, One Conversation, One Community”reading initiative, for freshmen. For the second year, the freshman program’s Common Reading Initiative aims for creating a culture of reading and providing a common academic experience for all new freshmen students, which integrates both curricular and co-curricular activities throughout the year.
The program enhances student understanding of the individual’s role in society, awareness of diverse cultures and perspectives, abilities to conduct research, solve problems, communicate information and skills in critical thinking and analysis. It also endeavors to help students become aware of other perspectives by reading selected books and engaging in campus events and course activities.
