AUC to Hold the 24th Annual NileTESOL Conference

The 24th annual NileTESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) conference, “Dynamic Teaching: Sharing Perspectives and Inspiring Practices.” The event is organized by AUC’s School of Continuing Education and the NileTESOL board.
The conference will feature plenaries, sessions, presentations, workshops, panel discussions, talks, a 20x20 event and poster sessions.
Topics to be discussed in the plenaries are “Reflect, Analyze, and Recreate Concrete Experiences for Impactful Learning,” “Education 2.0- Preparing Students for the Future,” “Managing the Digital Classroom,” and “Encouraging Learner Agency: Creating Space for Inspiration in the Classroom.”
Other topics include visual literacy and the power of image; successful readers are successful students; and the way to make an effective English language teacher.

Speakers at the inauguration are Muhammed Moussa, president, NileTESOL; Ehab Abdel Rahman, provost, AUC; James Ketterer, dean of School of Continuing Education; Matthew Hendershot, associate dean of American Library Association; Mai Magdy, co-chair, NileTESOL Conference 2020; Dina Abou El Magd, co-chair, NileTESOL Conference 2020.
Plenary speakers are Natasha Agrawal, English Language Fellow, Egypt Regional English Language Office (RELO), US Embassy; Suzette Pettit, commissioning English Language Teaching (ELT editor), York Press Sphinx; Nik Peachey, director of Peachey Publications LTD, ELT consultant; and Maha Bali, associate professor of practice, Center for Learning and Teaching, AUC.
Other speakers are Alex Warren, academic director and teacher trainer, ILB; Zahid Khokhar, regional manager and digital specialist, scholastic Middle East& Africa, MEB; and Nick Baguley, freelance teacher trainer, British Council.
