The Amir of Kuwait honours Qatar Foundation with prestigious social media award

Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development (QF) has won the award for the best social media presence in the education sector in the Arab region at the 15th His Highness Sheikh Salem Al-Ali Al-Sabah Informatics Award ceremony in Kuwait.
The award, which was presented by His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, recognised QF’s pioneering role and outstanding performance in promoting education and scientific research through social media.
Through its social media channels, QF strives to provide an environment that fosters a progressive society. By serving as a platform to promote education, science, and community development, QF is helping to unlock human potential and create a knowledge-based economy.
Engineer Saad Al Muhannadi, President of Qatar Foundation, attended the event, along with Hissa Al Mesnid Al Mohannadi, a member of the QF social media team.
Eng Saad received the award on behalf of the Foundation, saying: “We are very proud and incredibly honoured to have received this award. Our online channels serve as a platform for our community to come together, share, and discuss, and this accolade highlights the great work of Qatar Foundation’s social media team and their dedication to quickly and effectively disseminating news and information to our audience.”
A number of prominent and influential people attended the award ceremony in Kuwait, including Microsoft Co-Founder, Bill Gates, who was awarded the ‘Informatics Medal’ for his contribution to the field of communication and technology over the past four decades.
This accolade is typically given to public figures and corporate bodies for their use of social communication in the areas of civil society, government, education, health, media & communications, and culture. It recognises original digital creativity and achievements in the field of education, along with content quality and the design of pages, as well as social inclusiveness, diversity, and interaction.
