AlMabarrah AlKhalifia Foundation Celebrates 15-Year Legacy of Youth Empowerment and Social Impact
Marking a journey defined by giving, community service, and long-term developmental impact, AlMabarrah AlKhalifia Foundation (MKF) is pleased to celebrate its 15th anniversary. Since its establishment, the Foundation has remained committed to investing in people and empowering youth, positively shaping the lives of thousands of beneficiaries across the Kingdom of Bahrain.
Over the years, the Foundation has continued to advance its developmental mission under the vision and leadership of Her Highness Shaikha Zain bint Khalid Al Khalifa, Chairperson, alongside the members of the Board. This vision has guided the creation of high-quality programs and initiatives that respond to the evolving needs of society, while supporting the educational and professional growth of Bahraini youth.
MKF was established under the guidance and supervision of His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, may his soul rest in peace, who was its foremost supporter from the very beginning. His Royal Highness believed deeply in the importance of community work and its role in expanding access to education, development opportunities, and the empowerment of national talent. This approach continues to form the cornerstone of the Foundation’s work and its wide-ranging initiatives.
Over the past fifteen years, the Foundation has built an integrated suite of educational, training, and developmental programs that have helped thousands of students and youth in strengthening their academic, professional, and personal capabilities. These efforts aim to serve the Kingdom of Bahrain’s aspirations to nurture a knowledge-based society driven by innovation and sustainable development. To date, more than 4,723 participants have benefited from the Foundation’s programs, while 145 strategic and commercial partnerships have been established to support its developmental journey.
The Foundation has also launched several impactful initiatives, including the “Ithra” programs aimed at developing life and leadership skills among young people; the “Watheq” program which focuses on preparing students for university education. Among the most prominent among these projects is “Rayat,” which brings together selected students and graduates from key disciplines, including medicine, engineering, media, arts, business administration, and other fields to elevate their competencies in line with the labor market’s needs and Bahrain’s wider economic vision. The program has helped achieved tangible results, with 70% of attendees from its last two cohorts securing employment, reflecting its success in enhancing youth readiness and enabling them to build their professional futures. In addition to “THE TAKEOFF” which brought together numerous students and universities through interactive workshops designed to build practical skills.
On this occasion, Her Highness Shaikha Zain bint Khalid Al Khalifa, Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of MKF, affirmed that the Foundation’s 15th anniversary represents an important milestone and an opportunity to reflect on the achievements made possible by the support of the late His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, may his soul rest in peace. Her Highness noted that the values of giving, service to society, and investment in human capital instilled by this vision remain central to the Foundation’s mission.
Her Highness said: “For fifteen years, AlMabarrah AlKhalifia Foundation has remained dedicated to empowering youth and creating opportunities that enable them to pursue their aspirations and contribute to the development of their nation. Today, we take pride in the positive impact the Foundation has made in the lives of thousands of beneficiaries, and we look forward to building on this path through more comprehensive and sustainable initiatives that meet the needs of future generations and further strengthen community development in the Kingdom of Bahrain.”
For her part, Ms. Saba Yousif Seyadi, Executive Director of MKF, stated: “This occasion allows us to celebrate fifteen years of continuous work and meaningful achievements, made possible through the combined efforts of the Board of Directors, the Foundation’s team, partners, and supporters, all of whom have contributed to advancing its goals and mission.”
She added: “Since its inception, MKF has remained committed to developing initiatives that keep pace with changing needs and societal priorities, with a focus on capacity building, youth empowerment, and the creation of genuine opportunities for growth. We will continue to enhance the impact of our programs and broaden their reach, further strengthening the Foundation’s role as an active partner in community development.”
AlMabarrah AlKhalifia Foundation continues its developmental journey, building on a rich legacy of giving and community service, and guided by an ambitious vision that places human development at the forefront. Through its future plans, the Foundation seeks to expand its programs regionally and strengthen strategic partnerships with leading international universities and institutions, supporting its mission to develop and empower young people.
