ALHOSN University Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering

ALHOSN University, an Abu Dhabi–based private educational institution dedicated to ‘global knowledge with a local vision,’ has launched a new program, Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME), which has received initial accreditation from the Commission of Academic Accreditation (CAA) at the UAE Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

The first courses under the BSME program will be offered Spring Semester of 2012. ALHOSN recently expanded its Department of Industrial Engineering to include the new ‘Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering’ to accommodate the BSME program alongside the existing Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering (BSIE). “Mechanical engineering is one of the largest, broadest, and oldest engineering disciplines. Its practitioners develop many of the processes and systems that drive today’s technologies and industries. The BSME program is an important addition to our current engineering offerings which include undergraduate programs in architectural, civil, industrial, and software engineering as well as graduate programs in building engineering and engineering management. We hope that more students will interest in mechanical engineering, especially women who are making their mark as engineers in the UAE and across the region,” said Prof. Raymond Tennant, Provost at ALHOSN University.

Named after Abu Dhabi’s historic ALHOSN Palace, ALHOSN University was founded in 2005 by the Abu Dhabi Holding Company in response to growing local demand for high-quality, value-based educational institutions. It currently offers 12 undergraduate and 7 graduate programs under the Faculties of Engineering and Applies Sciences, Business, and Arts and Social Sciences. ALHOSN accepts students of all nationalities and also those with special needs. All its programs are accredited by the UAE Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
