Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor Bids Farewell to Michael Corbin, US Ambassador to the UAE

Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor, Chairman of the Al Habtoor Group, held talks with His Excellency Michael Corbin, the outgoing US Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates at the Al Habtoor Group head office on Al Wasl Road. The meeting took place on Monday December 15, 2014, one day before HE Corbin left his post. Corbin has been the US ambassador to the UAE since July 2011, after having served in the US Foreign Service for more than 25 years.   

HE Corbin thanked Mr. Al Habtoor for his support over the years he has been Ambassador. 

Al Habtoor said, “I wish His Excellency Michael Corbin for his future endeavors in the private sector in the UAE. I am pleased to see the Ambassador is staying in the UAE when he leaves office. This is the land of opportunity. The UAE is a safe and stable environment, and many expats have adopted it as their home.” 

HE Corbin will be replaced by Barbara Leaf who previously was deputy assistant secretary for the Arabian Peninsula at the State Department.
