Al Habtoor Group celebrates UAE’s 42nd National Day with tradition

The Al Habtoor Group opened its doors to residents of the UAE to mark the 42nd National Day of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The Group, whose motto is ‘Growing with the UAE,’ was founded by Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor in 1970, one year before the seven emirates united.

The Chairman hosted an open house in the garden adjoining the Al Habtoor Group Head Office on Al Wasl Road, on Monday December 2^nd, where Arabic coffee, dates and bread were served. In addition, there was a henna stall to highlight the importance of Henna in the Emirati culture. The open house was aimed at celebrating 42 years of success throughout the UAE and raising awareness about the Arabic tradition and heritage – as well as celebrating Dubai’s recent victory to host Expo 2020.

Khalaf Al Habtoor, who is currently on a visit to the US, said, “This year we have something extra special to celebrate. I never doubted Dubai’s bid to win the Expo 2020, we are one of the only countries in the world capable of hosting such an event; we are economically strong and already have the infrastructure in place. We have come so far in just 42 years, and we can compete on a global scale – and win. We are world class and should be proud of all our achievements.”

Separately Al Habtoor organised lunch from his house for all the staff at head office. The menu featured traditional Emirati delicacies.

Mohammed Al Habtoor, Vice Chairman and CEO, Al Habtoor Group, who joined in the celebrations said, “Maintaining our roots is very important to my father.  We are proud Arabs and want to share our culture with everyone. It was lovely to see so many people join in our nation’s birthday celebrations.”
