Al-Futtaim launches Smalto fashion watch collection

Al-Futtaim Watches & Jewellery yesterday launched seven lines of Smalto watch collection and anticipate strong UAE appeal for the chic, sophisticated Swiss-made fashion timepieces being showcased in the UAE for the first time.
Smalto Timepieces are manufactured by the world renowned Franck Muller Group and the collection is positioned at an affordable luxury retail price point.
Speaking at the launch press conference in Dubai, Mr. Thomas Dotzek, Senior General Manager at Al-Futtaim Watches & Jewellery said this is the first time the exclusively designed Smalto Collection will be offered to the UAE market. The Smalto range will be available across all Al-Futtaim Watches & Jewellery stores in the UAE.
“We have designers who exclusively work for us on the Smalto range, providing it with a sophisticated look which will surely appeal to our UAE customers who will be seeing these timepieces for the first time in the UAE," commented Patrick Steiner, Brand Manager Smalto Timepieces about the competitive advantage of Smalto. “The exclusive Swiss-made timepieces are marked at affordable prices, are manufactured in compliance with the highest Franck Muller quality standards and offered with a luxurious, value-adding gift box,” he added.
The Smalto Timepieces Launch Collection is designed to please a wide range of end consumers across global watch markets and live up to the highest quality expectations. The three product segments – Core, Sport Edition and Mechanical – and a special colour-themed line by the name of ‘Symphony of Colours’ in total combine 14 lines: The Core segment includes timeless classic and signature lines, while the Sport Edition segment surprises the end consumers with two breath-taking, engineered sporty lines. The product offer is well balanced between Gents and Ladies styles, keeping in mind the local tastes.
A number of distinctive features define each Smalto Timepiece: An iconic ‘S’ is engraved into the crowns and all case backs feature a unique crocodile skin texture. Cases are typically manufactured of several parts, which enhance the aesthetic appeal. The value adding branded butterfly buckles add convenience and a sophisticated elegance to the strap, while all movements are Swiss-made to assure precise reliability.
Each line is named after an Italian city as a tribute to the significant Italian heritage of Paris-based fashion house Smalto.
The key to the brand’s unique success is its ability to defy traditional watch making history and in addition, to create very sophisticated watches in terms of mechanisms, dressed in a revolutionary and absolutely contemporary design. Today, Franck Muller possesses 50 patents, 44 boutiques around the world and 7 production sites in Switzerland.
