Al-Futtaim Group’s Orient Insurance President Wins Family Business Award

Al-Futtaim Group has announced that Orient Insurance President Omer Elamin has won the Non-Family Executive accolade at the prestigious Family Business Awards. Celebrating his 40th anniversary with the group, Elamin was recognised for spearheading innovation and driving growth through his contributions at the inaugural event. 

Held by the Family Business Council Gulf (FBCG), a private, not-for-profit membership organisation representing family businesses across the GCC, the Family Business Awards recognise the extraordinary success of leading family-run establishments across generations.

Thanks to the jury, the FBCG Board and of course to Al-Futtaim Group for allowing me to serve the Group and to lead their insurance arm, Orient for the last 40 years. I am proud to represent Al-Futtaim and to ensure that it continues to grow in line with the Group’s vision and values.”  

The Non-Family Business Executive Award honours an individual’s long-standing tenure and vital contributions to a family business. The individual, who will have demonstrated exceptional loyalty and commitment, is selected by a jury to be the recipient of the celebrated accolade. 

FBCG’s purpose is to facilitate the continuity of GCC family businesses. As a regional platform, the council supports and engages leading family-owned organisations across the six GCC countries. It also seeks to identify and address issues which are specific to the GCC region and contribute to the intellectual progress on topics related to family business management, particularly succession, family governance, next-generation development and family communication.
