Al Bustan Centre and Residence, the popular hotel apartment among visiting tourists and businessmen in the heart of Dubai, announces that the property is making environmental improvements to cater to the demands of environmentally conscious travellers, as it celebrates its 15th anniversary.

The property, established in 1997, will invest in several energy manage ment programs and change their practices to protect the environment as well as to bring in new opportunities for revenue increases.

Moussa El Hayek, Chief Operating Officer of Al Bustan Centre & Residence said: “The travelling guests are increasingly interested in patronising hotels that invest in environmentally friendly buildings, equipment, processes and techniques. Although we have some energy conservation programs in place, we want to further increase the awareness and create programs that will reduce our costs and increase revenue. As we celebrate our 15th anniversary, we want to prioritise this initiative and comply with the requirement of Green Hotel concept!”

Some of the initiatives already undertaken by the hotel are the use of LED lights, compact fluorescent lamps, eco-friendly fiber pillows, linens and towels. The property is also planning to replace the chillers and controls in the hotel rooms and apartments and facilitate the Reuse, Reduce and Recycle program.

El Hayek added: “We want to continue to improve the quality of hotel service to increase guest satisfaction which is one of the factors behind our success. Al Bustan Centre & Residence appeals to both business and leisure travellers coming from different market segments. The hotel’s positioning as a family-oriented accommodation helped us overcome the difficulties during the economic downturn and helped us exceed our targets during the booming years.”

Aside from its environmental plans, the property is also very active in supporting activities sponsored by the Dubai government such as the seminar on the Conservation of Water, Promoting Plantation, Energy Saving, Awareness on Contagious Diseases and Aid Prevention. The property also participated in the Anti-Smoking Drive, Clean-Up Drive and Earth Hour.

The year 2012 looks very promising for the hotel apartment after recording almost full occupancy during the first quarter. Expectations are high in the coming months and the team is looking forward to exceed last year’s performance.

Al Bustan Centre & Residence will continue to improve its facilities to appeal to business travelers and at the same time, attract and penetrate new markets.
